But did anyone else notice the writing on the cast’s introductions?
On the left it reads: ” I saw under the alter […] that were slain […] testimony which […]”. Which is from the Book of Revelation (6:9). The whole passage reads, “When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained”. An analysis of said passage can be read here.
In both Evan Peters’ and Sarah Paulson’s introductions, it says “[…] de la Santisima Muerte […] Perro Prieto. Pida lo que guarde el mono en […] dos […] de […]”. And seeing as though I don’t speak any Spanish, I have no idea what any of that means. So I Google’d “Santisma Muerte" which appears to be a "Keeper of Men’s Fidelity". Maybe pertaining to Zoe’s little ‘gift’?
On Taissa’s introduction it reads “Spiritu Dominado”, but with a little help from Google, it is corrected to “Espiritu Dominador” which translates to “Spiritual Ruler”.
Frances Conroy’s introduction is almost unintelligible. But what I can gather from it is “[…] kind of […] goats […] ridged […] best […] where […]”. Along with that is a picture of, what seems to be (I’m not expert), a goat.
I have no idea what any of these things could mean; whether they hint at character details, plot, or are just coincidences (which I doubt because, according to my Cinematography teacher, “there are never coincidences in film”) is a complete mystery to me.
